History
The Centre was constructed by the Edmonton Host Lions Club in 1966 on city land donated for Senior Citizens and the community. The Community Services Department operates the Centre in partnership with Central Lions Seniors Association. 
 
Central Lions Seniors Association 
 
Central Lions Seniors Association (CLSA) is an independent, non-profit society formed in 1979 to “encourage, promote and provide opportunities for recreation, education and socializing, to improve and enhance the well-being of persons 55 years of age and older.” With over 1400 members, CLSA is one of the largest seniors organizations in Edmonton. 
 
Working in partnership with Edmonton Community Services, CLSA is responsible for providing and funding all recreational and social programs at the Centre.
  • Over 150 programs and presentations per season
  • Over 90,000+ in attendance per year
  • Over 12,500 hours in volunteer time contributed by CLSA members in 2005
  • Facility currently closed for renovations; expected to re-open Fall 2008. Programs continue in Community Halls and Churches. Phone number and mailing address maintained during shut down.
